Hi there,
My husband and I have had our 79 Ford Thunderbird for about
6 years or so now, he loves it!! We bought it with the
intentions of doing some self classic restoration, although the car is already in good condition,he wanted to pimp his ride! LOL
However that has never happened, we have driven it over the years
but is steadily depreciating, and I feel it is time to give up on the old girl..We're getting ready to move and don't need the baggage. It's cotton white w/ blue interior vin 9G87H190207 in above fair shape
do you know anyone who can take her off our hands? $2000 OBO Tel
them to call us 608 362 1556

i had a '77 t-bird at the same time my brother drove a '74 Gran Torino Sport. You could see the similarities. The T-bird's steering was better, the Torino had about as much feel as the steering wheel on Arari's "deathrace" arcade game. That the Torino happened to turn in the same direction as you turned the wheel felt utterly unconnected to one another. the Torino ran on 14" tires, the T-bird on 15". either car could take Ford's 302 all the way up to the 460. I got the t-bird as my first new car. I hated it as I'd been campaigning for a Cougar XR-7. My T-bird was super-stripped. No power options, the base 302, vinyl seats and an AM radio. Also a hideous color-combo - white over emerald green with emerald interior vinyl. Not at all what I had wanted, I hated the car and abused it terribly. It survived through 127,000 miles of that.

I own a 1979 Thunderbird which is light jade (green) in color. I bought the car brand new when I was just 19 years old. I drove it for a few years, then went away to school and then got a job which provided me a company car. So my T-Bird just sat there, garaged for 10 years. After that period, I bought my own house and just kept my T-Bird there in my mother's garage. Even today, the car only has 33,628 original miles and is in mint condition. I go over a few times a year and start it up. It turns right over. I have since promised the car to my 13 year old son, telling him he can have it when he hits 25 years old. That way I can be sure he can really appreciate it and not wreck it.

I bought a very nice, all-original 400 bick-block 77 t-bird a few months ago for 750 bucks. You just can't find a better deal.

I am going to buy a 1979 T-bird with 41,000 miles. It is the Light Jade (Light green) with green interior. I can't wait. $4500. I still think it is a nice bargain. Always garage kept. No rust at all. I just love the color.
